Sonar has bugs and the head honcho acknowledges it, enough said...I've tried every combination of buffer setting I could imagine with no way to fix the dropouts.

CPU and RAM wise it's not even close to being maxed out. Main point is: playback of 7 or 8 tracks alone works flawlessy, but try recording one track and then everything goes to hell, and it was never a problem in the past.

mistergarner, your setup is interesting because I'm using the Sonitus multiband as well... I usually lay down a couple of tracks, do a preliminary mix, and then go back and record some more tracks. You don't necessarily have to use input monitoring to apply effects already existing tracks. I'm only using 4 effects and like you said, and it always worked before.

Anyhow, I'm trying out 4.02 tonight.

Rolled back a version and it works in 4.02. Here's the deal though, it's back to the old issue I've had on Sonar for a while where initially you might get droupouts, and recording stops immediately after you press record. Start recording again and voila - no problem. Annoying but doesn't keep you from getting stuff done.

Space time continuum is just fine here!

I want an answer.

The track drop-out problem happens when there is a disturbance in the space-time continuum. It Looks like Doc Brown and Marty might just be up to their old tricks again...

There are more than a few of us here with the drop out bug.

Trying to wait patiently here for 4.04 and have 5 on order. I wonder what will arrive first...

<Edit>Wow, right after posting this I checked and 4.04 was there. Now thats service!</Edit>

Well, it would seem that all I had to endure of crochitude was two days.
Just downloaded the 4.0.4 patch (which was posted very recently I believe) and the dropout bug looks to be cured.

Thanks Ron and everybody at Cakewalk!!!
