sound still plays but wavs in region show flatline

2 problems, the first and foremost is that sometimes my pc suddendly restarts in the middle of a session for no apparent reason causing me to lose unsaved information. This major problems sometimes causes my second which is when the pc reboots and i try to open the file that i was working on during the crash, some of the wavs in the region do not appear, all i see is a flat line as if there was no wav but the audio still plays. I usually wouldn't mind since the audio still plays, however i can't make cuts and edits if i cant see the wavs in the regions. Any suggestions?

I saw this when I did not have the AISO drivers installed for my first sounds card. I would check everything about your sounds drivers and their settings.

First RAM, then Drivers...

Hey, RAM is the culprit of most crashes. Maybe if you configure your os for not to restart automatically after a crash you can see the "blue screen" and then probably you can detect your problem easier. By the way what is your os? sound card? etc

in the advanced properties of My Computer you can turn off the auto-reboot, which will let you see the BSOD message

Thanks for the reply, how can i fix my device driver within usb quattro and how can i check the windows events logs because im unfamiliar with checking for crashes?
