I downloaded and installed the new drivers but I like the old ones better. When I now want to select an audio input, they all have the same name. No numbers to indicate what inputchannel I'm selecting. The same with the outputchannels. I also get a lot more pops and clicks in a project in Sonar 4.0.3 PE that uses a many VST synths even though my FirePod setting (and all other settings) are exactly the same. Can I uninstall the new drivers and then install the old ones again (including the firmware)? -Ranietz-

I've been in touch with the PreSonus tech support (wow, they're fast!), the suggested some small changes in my setup and now the clicks/pops are gone. They're also going to fix the "name" problem with the input/output channles... -Ranietz-

Hmm.. just went there and downloaded it. I didn't see any information about the update.. what it fixes or adds? No readme of any kind in the download either. I did notice what looks like a firmware update.. PaeFwUpgrade.exe in the installer package.

Can I uninstall the new drivers and then install the old ones again (including the firmware)? Yes! Just go to the Device Manager (the easiest way is to hold down the Windows key and press the Pause/Break key, then go to the Hardware tab and click on the Device Manager button) and choose the device. Then go to the Driver tab and click the Roll Back Driver tab. Regards, David

So I take it from these posts that the sample rate swtich problem was not fixed and the software mixer is not there... maybe I will still win my bet...

me: "Hi, I noticed the new v2 update for firepod and downloaded it. I don't see any information regarding what is in the update. Did I miss it or is it not available. " from support: "I am preparing that information as we speak, and it should be up by the end of the day. Sometimes the info follows the update, haha. Thanks! "

Give them time they are trying (I think).. Hey, maybe they outsourced driver development to India and there are 30 people somewhere in Bangalore trying to confer on how to do the job. Because they don't really have a clue how to write drivers LOL ! I'm being so harsh..

If by "confer," you mean screaming at each other to cover that fact that they aren't meeting their SLA's, you are correct. At least that's how it works in the outsourcing company I work for. However, Presonus would probably outsource to China - it's less expensive there. I hope the new drivers address the problem you are having. My guitarist just bought a Firepod; not sure if he is having the same troubles.
