Yes, dumb noob question about tying notes in score...

I am using a midi channel in Sonar 3.1.1.

How do I manually insert ties between notes into the scored music?

Sonar seems to automate the tying process as I'm inputting chords myself, but it's not getting everything. I'd like to just be able to tie some of the notes together myself, lickity-split.

I did read the manual but did not find the answer.

If someone would have mercy on me (after they finish snickering over such a basic question, sigh ), I'd appreciate it.

thanks!

Let's say that you want to tie two eight notes from the "and" of beat four in measure three to the first beat in measure four. Instead of inputting two eight notes, put one quarter note on the "and of beat four in measure three and that will automatically create the two tied eighth notes that you desire. HTH.

So in other words: Sonar still "automates" the creation of the tied notes, and to get it to do this properly, what I need to do is input a note of the total length that I would like to be held.

Okay. I'll give that a shot. Thanks!
