EQ sweeping

is there any way with software mixing in sonar to do sort of a sweeping boost over a range of frequencies for a particular track to see which ones need to be cut/boosted? I could do this by resetting the EQ plugins for all different frequencies, but that's awfully time consuiming and i figured there was probably a way to do this in real time while listening back to a soloed track. anyone know a good method?

Well...um...track EQ does that...unless I am not understanding you correctly...

I would think, judging from my old friend, Tom Marklham, and his work in electronics that you could use a parametric equalizer together with a graphic equalizer that would create a persons idea of the absolute listening effect across the sound spectrum you describe, here.

Tom was the guy who used to pull mono sound tracks apart, busting them into eight and sixteen track masters (analog.) He also started black boxing the voice remover hardware for the karoke stuff.

Open a parametric eq (every version of sonar comes with at least one), dial in an eq boost, and sweep the frequency up and down.

    Cheers.
