New production from my studio

Hi group, I’m looking for some advice on this song. It’s recorded in my studio. I’m the technician, producer and bass player on this song.

Wherever you may go

All comments on the production are welcome…

Pretty nice song. The only thing I did not like was the pitch varations of the vocals. You might be able to tune them up with software if this is the best he can sing. Lots of software out there. If you upgraded to Sonar 5 you might try the new V-Vocal. Melodyne is avalable, also my favorite Autotune. Good mix etc. The bass is very good.

Thank you for listening! Yeah I know about the vocal being a bit out of tune sometimes, but the artist (know) he’s not a great singer and we have to live with that part… But I have of course ordered SONAR 5 PE and will try to “fix it in the mix” with the V-Vocal…

    Gunnar:

I enjoyed the song. I could hear all the parts very clear and balanced. Especially the acoustic gtr (my instrument) caught my ear in its subtlety. Very nice song.

The stereo field is well balanced, IMHO. Nice work.

    Very nice work, Gunnar.

There are a few things here and there that could use some tweaking, but they are really minor. I will give another listen to the tune tomorrow and post some comments then.

Well crafted song and nice production. One thing I noticed is that the acoustic guitar has a very prominent role and it tends to pull the balance to the left a bit, maybe counter balance with moving the tamborine to the right more, something like that.

All the instruments have been recorded and mixed very well. Nice bass line and tone, is that a Jazz?

I hate doing short comments like this as they don't provide much feedback. But, I really thought it was excellent overall. Nice song, production, etc... Good job.
