    Nice, blipp!

You electronica guys are doing the most creative stuff I hear on these forums. Really liked this one. Title fits it, too, somehow.

Like the avatar, too. (If it's not new, this is the first I've seen it.)

Cheers M. Glad you liked it. Appreciate your kind words. yeh weve got some amazing electronica artists on the Project 5 forum. The standard is so high and we keep each other on our toes.

Yeh the avatar is new. I thought i should go with a close-up shot. Looks pretty mean huh?

Your song creates a wonderful mood. I'm a guitarist who develops severe synth envy when I hear well done electronica pieces such as this. Ever do any soundtrack work? Good job!

Cheers GPM. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a failed/frustrated guitarist, but i found out i was better with electronica.

Never done any soundtrack work or anything commercial except a self released cd a few months ago.

    Very appealing.
Nice structure. Some electronic music is so repetitive, you've heard the whole piece in 30 seconds, but you've done a nice job of keeping it interesting, by introducing different layers, and textures.
    This would make good soundtrack.

    Blipp:

I can't add a lot of technical comments, but I enjoyed the track and added you to my soundclick radio. As a gtr player only, I think the best pieces of electronica are those that allow me to focus on other tasks while I listen to the music. Much like Eno's Discreet Music.

This track allowed me to do that, while subtlely keeping my unconscious attention all the while.

I like the tune, but the mix is a bit dark until the rhythm section comes in at 1:55. Even then, there's still a lot of top missing, and top makes space.

Cheers for listening Paul. I have actually got more compliments about this mix than any other of my songs. They've been asking me how i got such a clean and clear mix. So, i don't know.

I don't normally go in for much of this type of thing (showing my age) but I thought this was well done. It kind of reminded me of that first Richard Souther record (I don't remember the name of it) which I also liked quite a bit.

I liked this one. Seems this reminds folks of other pieces. This reminds me of Philip Glass' music from Naqoyqatsi. It's interesting and moves a long nicely.

    i hear you john,

great tune i liked smooth rolling emotions you create through your tracks, reminded me of some of luke slater ep's i have.

ALthough its not much off i think paul might have a point about the highs maybe bringing the forward a little would help to add a little extra
    sparkle.

also i wondered if the mids where a little (just a little loud),and perhaps the sounds alittle bit like a metal clash at 5.15 could maybe be alittle further back in the mix perhaps.

but over all i really liked it, I would say your personal sound is developing really quickly, and i can see a vast improvement in overall mix and structure off your pieces over the last year or so john, which give me hope as well

    cheers for sharing.

    all the best kieran.

    comments guys. Thanks.

@ Kieran, Yep i'll probably give this one a bit of a remix in a couple of areas some time in the future, but this was the hardest track i've ever had to mix so far due to a lot of the sounds clashing so it might be a while yet.
I'm getting a lot of people saying i've now got a recognisable and personal sound which is pleasing.

    Aphex meets something more friendly.

Sounds a little bit like it was inspired by Aki Tsuyuko's Ongaku****su.

Outstanding! I second the nods to Eno and Aphex. Excellent ambience, rhythm, sounds. Maybe I need to get into Project 5 a little more.

Thanks low_z, glad you enjoyed it.

P5 is wonderful. I spent years not making music on the pc because i could'nt find any software i could get on with. I'd previously been using an Atari STFM with Master Tracks Pro sequencer and varioue bits of hardware. I finished with that about 12 years ago and did'nt make any more music until i discovered project 5 exactly a year ago. It's a great comunity on the p5 board and we've got some great producers of electronica.

Fantastic work Blipp. What is that sound that comes in just about every measure that sounds something like a low muted horn? It's got such a cool mood to it's sound. I really like the track.

Yeh, quite a few people have said that it sounds like a wind instrument of some kind, but it's a patch from "Dimension" which is a native synth of Project 5 2.00. The patch is called "Amorphous"
