Dimension doesnt show up in Sonar
How do you get Dimension to show up as a DXI inside of Sonar 4 or 5, without having to run P5v2 as a rewire first?

On my machine Dimension shows up just like any other soft synth in S5. I didn't do anything special. Do you have it installed in the Shared Dxi directory?

Yep--
its at D:\Music\Cakewalk\Shared Components\Shared Dxi\Dimension.... But sonar 4 or 5 wont show it under the insert- soft synths tab.

No- its included.... I see it in the Plugin Manager with no problems.
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled it from the P5v2 dvd. I get the same results...
This is very strange...

Well....
Im stumped.
Ive uninstalled Sonar 3, and Sonar 4, and Sonar 5, and Dimension. I then removed anything that had to do with Cakewalk inside the registry using regedit (Im familiar with its use). Then I reinstalled Sonar-5 PE by itself, and then Dimension. I cannot see it under the insert- soft synths tab. Its not there. However when I rewire P5 into S5 I can use it, and record Dimension sounds to track. All other softsynths are there (that I know of so far), so this is baffling the helll outa me as to why it wont show up as a dxi by itself. Any further ideas would be appreciated.

Did you try to use the regsvr32.exe utility to de-register and re-registery the dimension dll manually?

Thanks for that idea... but I get the message LoadLibrary("dimension.dll")failed- The specific module could not be found... Now what? EDITED: Nevermind that- part... I got the dll to register and unregister, but it STILL doesnt show up in the dxi Tab....

Progress not....
I did an uninstall of Project 5, Dimension etc etc, and then a complete reinstall including all patches. So far, Ive reinstalled Sonar-5, Project-5 and Dimension. Ive deleted Sonar 3, and Sonar-4. I have run the regsvr32.exe utility, and got the Dimesion dll to unregister and register. I can see all of my "other" SoftSynths in Sonar-5. I still cant see the Dimension Softsynth under the insert- soft synths tab. I can only see it under rewire in Project-5.
Does anyone from Cakewalk or a "Higher Power", wish to give this a shot, and tell me just exactly why this is happening?

I'm niether of the above...but for what it's worth...have you upgraded DirectX or XP in the last couple of days? It's also possible that something in XP corrupt and is blocking the insert in Sonar. I had this problem with the WaveArts TrackPlug. It wouldn't show in Sonar...but would in Sound Forge and everywhere else. In an act of guesswork frustration, I decided to do a Repair of XP...and voila...it showed up after that. I don't know what I fixed...becuase it was automatic..sorry. And there is a great program called REGCleaner Here You could try running that...it cleans the registry of orphan DLL's and other stuff. Perhaps it will find and take out the problem piece.

You should probably contact Cakewalk's technical support staff to work on this with them.

I can offer no help, but I'll echo exactly what Mod Bod said - after installing P5, it was automatically in Sonar next time I opened it up.
