Looking for Recommendations for Firewire Drive for Adding Inst. & Vocals to Tracks

I purchased an M-Audio Firewire 410 and now have a feeling I made a mistake. Seems to be much trouble loading the drivers and not being directed to load them again and again, and when it seems to hold and use the drives it seems to be crashing my computer after a short period of use. Has anybody else experienced problems with this box? I need to know soon so if necessary I can return this equipment for a refund from the shop I bought it from. I was looking for recommendations on a replacement. This is the second M-Audio fire interface I purchased that sucks.
