Help with Latancy and Soft Synths

Ive got a new project open with a few guitar tracks recorded. I added in the TTS-1 and with no audio playing back, I get minimal latancy when playing the synth- buffer set at 5.3 ms. Now, when I hit play and/or record there is sizeable delay/latancy when playing the synth. Ive tried it with the VSampler as well, same problem. Now, If I open another project, insert the (a) synth, record, no problems. Only happening in this new project. Pretty sure there is a setting somewhere that Im missing, but not sure. Manual was no help other than suggestion I check the buffer. Anyone have any Ideas? Thanks for your help.

nevermind I found the problem. I had an instance of PLParEQ3 on one of the tracks and aparantly this will skrew with the latancy. Not sure why, must be the design of the plug. Watch out for those freebies!!!

PLparEQ3 is not the only plugin to add latencies to real-time tracks. I have also noticed this behavior BTW. I am also trying to track down a separate problem in SONAR with PLParEQ3 with the project lead at RAL...who is very responsive. Companies with truly responsive employees are the ones we want to keep around. So far in my journeys I have seen Cakewalk employees and Refined Audiometric Laboratories employees working on *Sunday* trying to solve customer technical issues. Those are the companies you keep! Anyway...just wanted to add some positive feedback since some of the newer folks might take your comment to mean "avoid this freebee!". Personally I think it is a great product. Then again, I got in on the $20 KVR deal....

    Hi Andy,

The Eq plug is nice. I got a free download from somewhere for the 3 band. Hearing that there are other known issues with the plug is a good thing to know. Im not saying stay away from this one at all, just that people need to be aware that some plugins will introduce different issues with different hosts.

    Rock on.

Looks like my issue is resolved with version 2.08(just released). I still wouldn't view the latency added as a "bug"...some plugs simply require a certain period of time to process. Perfect Space also has a lower limit IIRC.
