getting the best

Hey i got a laptop 1.6 GHz 512 ram and 80 gigs and i want to get a usb soundcardy thing and I've read some reviews but they havent been very consistent so if i could get some personal responses to what people think would work best and why that would be great. thank you very much

    i use a tascam us 122 which seems pretty good to me.......

    I use an M-Audio JamLab USB interface with my laptop. One in, one out. Works great for what it is. Inexpensive, no latency.
