Sonar 5 PE - First Impressions from a Home studio 4 User

First Impression: Pretty! The interface is cool

2nd Impression: WTF Why can't I set the bit depth on the ASIO driver!

3rd impression: ASIO driver interaction sucks! Many pops clicks and disorted audio and drop outs. HS4 Rocked with my ASIO drivers. You would think that there would be little different.

4th Impression: Wow look at the high CPU usage with the WDM drivers =/

I thought that S5 would be a much better product but now I'm not so sure. I cant hear the marketing people now "Let bundle a bunch of stuff with it and nobody will notice it's beta untill it's too late. Again I had HS4 working great with my Detla 66 and ASIO drivers. Oh well now to vent some of this anger on people by playing Battlefiled 2.

P4 3.2Gh
1 Gig Ram
80GB Stata drive
M- Audio Delta 66 Omni IO
S5PE 5.01 The Patch said it was already updated. Came today in the mail.

Please tell me I have something configured wrong that I can wasily fix so I can get the ASIO drivers and my low latency back.

    that's strange...
There is another guy posting that 5.0.1 made his ASIO drivers go south...

    Are you using Sonar 5.0.1?

    If you are not,
    then install the update.

    If you are,
try re-installing the drivers, re-boot, then re-profile your sound card.

    Hope that helps,
    Tomek.

    ASIO Drivers don't get profiled.

Maybe S5 just perfers wdm w/ M- Audio Delta 66 on your system?
Anyone around here having luck w/ that card on ASIO?

Actually I think there were ASIO conflict with the SB ASIO driver. For some reason the next day the ASIO drivers started working. Go figure but now my CPU is way low and I can record at 96/24
