Peculiar .36 driver issue

I finally installed the .36 drivers for my Delta 1010 and... Everything seemed fin until I turned on my J-Station. It's connected through the SPDIF. I started playing my guitar and the sound was like gargling... Playback of the gargled sound was fine, i.e. no gargling, but the monitoring while playing is the problem. ANyone else encountered this?

Thanks,

I have a Delta 66 and tried the.36 drivers a month ago. I thought everything was cool until I noticed distortion ONLY on my right channel during play back. Reverted back to .27 drivers and life returned to normal.

Do you have the delta panel, hardware settings, Master Clock set for s/pdif in?

Ok, is your monitoring by software (Sonars input monitoring) or direct from the Delta monitor mixer?

    I just tried it with my setup (Sonar2.1, AP2496 & .36 driver and J-station).
No problem at all - had Delta buffer at 128 and Sonar slider on min (latency 2.9ms). Sonar input monitoring from s/pdif input.

Did you re-run the wave profiler after updating the drivers? I always do. I think the cards sync timing with the driver has changed with .36.

I noticed somewhere that Cakewalk recommend not using the drivers with "multichannel" names (unless you have the equipment to record a lot of channels). I only have the three non-multi ones selected in Sonar and use the 1/2's for playback and recording timing masters.

distortion ONLY on my right channel

    Holy smokes!

A while back I was hearing some distortion on the right side (sometimes) when a track was armed and I was playing back. Eventually it got bad enough that you could even hear it *while* recording!

Since it didn't happen right away, I had no reason to connect it to the .36 drivers.

    Hmmmm...

All delta drivers should be destroyed using the removal tool whenever you change versions.

I have experiemented with NOT removing the old drivers and found it created problems. However, the only driver I had a problem with after using the removal tool was the .29 driver.

The .36 driver is working very well for me on a delta 44.

I have the same problem using WDM .36 - but ASIO doesn't show this behaviour.

Steven - good to know I was not imagining the.36 distortion on the right channel. And you are correct - I could hear it while recording too. VERY hard to troubleshoot as the problem didn't crop up until a few days AFTER I installed .36. I really thought it was 3.1.1 and was cursing out Sonar (to include lots of reinstalls) until I reverted back to the .27 drivers.

Since then not one problem (knocking on wodd...)
