Like what Joe said--what R U doing with your music, what style?
You probably will want to get a good dynamic and condensor mic. One may be enough. I just ordered a cheap mic off Musician's Friend for only $49 bucks, an MXL 990 I think(condensor). These will sound much better than a dynamic mic in most cases. They catch the subtleties of vocals, especially the higher range(think women and falsettos)... That one might be a nice mic for a starter and there are definitely some nice ones right around $100. MXL, Behringer, AKG, Nady. They might have one around $100 that works really nice. Other condensor that should be pretty nice are Shure, Rode and if you live in a mansion--Neumann. :)
