finally a recording

Got my first recording! Thanks for the help! A general question: Is the midi cable from a keyboard to the USB a fiber-optic cable?A gal at the local music store told me that the USB port is for fiber-optic.Anyhow,she didn't have one of these rare animals.I saw one at Musicians Friend and it was like $39.oo.Does that sound about right?Does it convert a regular electric signal to fiber-optic somehow? This is way over my head...

No, it is not fiber optic. All the cable needs to do is transmit data between your keyboard and your cpu. It's similar to your keyboard, printer, mouse cable.

Generally what is fiber optic is a lightpipe connection, used mostly in Toslink or ADAT format.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
