Audio default

I just installed Music Creator (with no previous experience with any similar music software, so there's a learning curve here). I get a message something to the effect that stereo audio couldn't be done because of a sound card problem and the default setting was set to mono. Any help with this? I have a two year old computer with XP running. I just assumed my sound cards are compatible. Might this not be true? Thanks for your help.

Never assume, built in sound cards are not designed for multitrack recording studios, having said that you can still get acceptable results to learn with, later upgrading will become neccesary. Mono input is fine, most recordings are done with mono tracks being mixed down and panned to a stereo outpt thru panning and FX work. Just dive in and feel free to ask any other questions you need most of the folks here are gerat to work with.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!
