Just built a dual core intel system

I just finished putting the system together last night. Pentium D 930, intel 955xbk mobo w/TI chipset for firewire, RME Fireface, 2 gigs of ram, 3 sata drive,80-OS, 160-AUDIO, 250-Back up, DVD drive, Sonar 5.01, Wave lab. Windows xp sp2. Everythings running very smooth so far. I'm doing a session on saturday and will post how it performs. Arthur www.dmsstudio.com

Looks Great! I see it has the TI chipset for the onboard firewire. Are you using the onboard 1394 with your RME Fireface? I would like to have usable onboard firewire solution without having to waste a firewire card and PCI slot. Are you using any of the exisiting PCI slots? From reading the Intel website it looks like the MB has (3) conventional 32-bit PCI slots and (3) PCI-Express slots, as well. This is important to me, as I would like to put my existing (2)UAD-1 DSP cards and Delta 66 audio card into the PCI slots and leave the PCI Express slots for future expansion. The 8GB of addressable memory is nice too.

I've been using the onboard firewire with the RME fireface with no problems so far. I havent used any of the other pci slots yet except for the pci express video card slot hope this helps. no problems with SP2 ether. again everything is running very smooth Arthur www.dmsstudio.com
