A test Podcast

OK,

I've managed to get P5 test podcast up on ITunes. Link is:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=121484841&s=143444

I may collect a few tracks posted in the past week from the forum and create a new podcast ? Anyone not happy with the idea ?

Andy

Working ok for me. What's the advantage of having a podcast. Would it mean more exposure?

I don't like iTunes... and whenever I run apple quicktime or real player I end up with MediaPlayer problems. I don't think there's much love lost between them.

    Isn't a Podcast just a big MP3?

Technically yes. However the rss file means it's easy to find and you can add more podcasts weekly, daily etc. Essentially it's like having a radio show with on line archives.

Normally thats true, but I've not had too many probelms with iTunes. Real player is a complete B*st*rd though !

    For the podcast, Ditto....,
but might I also suggest some Podcasted P5 tips and tutorial readings from the Wiki....between some songs....
Maybe an interview with Brandon, Mike, René, or maybe Phil's and B-rock 's Tales of "The Search for Mikey"

I'll keep it clean, never know where the FCC lurks these days.
And I'll get to it next weekend, had extra work over this weekend and a few power outages. I'd still love to do it though.
Any ideas on a reasonable mic for the job? Not cheap, just reasonable.

    Phil,

Do you want to email me at andy (at) r2-dvd.org and we can have a quick talk about whats needed ? As for a mike, something like a Samson C1 (or C03) might do you.

    Hi Andy!

I was listening to EMC Radio a little while ago and they were doing a repeat of a live show broadcast by NTNS on Friday night at 7:00 pm Pacific. They played one of my tunes, "Black Jackets".

I am totally uninformed about internet radio, podcasts, etc. I had no idea they would be playing the song and I don't know where they would have taken my tune from (not that I necessarily mind - my 12-year old thought it was pretty cool). Then I thought maybe it was related to what you were setting up here.

Do you think it could have been related to the podcast or whatever you were setting up here? And, if so, if you don't mind me asking, how exactly?

Andy, are you going to update your podcast? I bought an iPod just to listen to it (among other things) but the original broadcast is getting a wee bit stale...
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but also if you could point me in the right direction on how to create a podcast it would be deeply appreciated.

LOL..you bought an iPod just to hear this? Wow. Now that's consumerism at its finest bro! LOL

I would love an iPod but honestly, I don't listen to music HALF as much as I used to.

    Busted!!!
To be honest DA, I bought it so I could download songs from the forum and listen to it while I work:::not all of us can use a cd player while we're on the clock:::so I could give more than a cursory listen to some very good musical ideas that float around here at the forum and also at the auditorium.
