It's not that difficult of a program. Strange that it is confounding you. RTFM? No? Yes?

Turn off strict red book checking. It's an option somewhere that can be turned on or off. I don't know what you mean when you say your tracks don't line up right.

oh btw: the latest version supports CD text authoring. Unfortunately, you need a drive that supports that feature and few do. Even computer drives don't always support it. And to make matters worse, Media Player doesn't support it. There is a CD Text Manager program you can download that will read this info off the disc and report it back to you for testing purposes. Go to Sony's website and search under their support pages. You will find the link. Then download the program, install it and you're good to go.

I don't know but here's another thought - call Sony Tech Support. Your're kinda in the wrong place for Sony help.

    I use it.
I prefer adhering to strict redbook, but you can uncheck strict redbook.

You're not even reading the help/manual? From the help file:

"Your first track should begin at 00:00:02:00 to conform to Red Book standards"

"You can drag CD tracks to rearrange them, drag either end of a track to change its length, or use the Track List window to edit the track's position or name. "

not be an ass, but that's not what i asked.....i know that there has to be 2seconds before the first track starts. my problem starts with the 3rd track. everything is where it's supposed to be lined up at, yet after about 20sec. track 3 turns into track4 for some strange reason.....i dont know, i need to play around with it some more i guess.

    try this:

    start a new project
don't change anything from the default
drag each song from the file list you want on the cd and in the order you want
do all the songs now line up properly? if so, then you may have dragged or adjusted something
in the original project that is causing the song timeline to be confused.

i'm running v5.2 and i recommend using quantize to frames, enable snapping, and snap to markers (under options menu)

When snapping is enabled, events will snap to the following points:

    Other events' edges

    CD track boundaries

    CD indices

    Pause time between tracks

    The cursor

    Time selection edges
