Volontary stuttering

Hi there !!

I'm trying to find a way (or a plug/soft) to achieve something I really love in electro grooves : I would call it vlontary stuttering.

This is how I call it when an element (i.e a snare) is repeated very very fast, but I don't want my sample to be played sliced, I want it to be repeated as if you would hold a key and the note would be replayed until you release.

I don't know if my explanations are easy to understand (I'm french, so I try to do the best I can !), but the best way to describe what I'm trying to achieve is an example :

Linkin Park, Album "Meteora", Track 12 "Session" at 0:43 (snare drum repeat). (I think it's the instrumental song that was in Matrix 2 soundtrack).

Thanks if you know how to do it (or just imagine a way to !!)

Thanks man for your link, but actually I already read your topic before posting mine, and it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for, I think the Steinberg Chopper slices a continuous sound, and in my case, I'm trying to repeat very fast a very short sound !

Do you know the Linkin Park song I have given in example ?

I'll try it tonight, I'll tell if it's what I'm looking for (and even if it's not, thx for the link, there seems to be pretty open source stuff down there !!)

Is it the old "Max Headroom" stutter you're looking for? I would think you could chop up your audio and paste multiples back together. You can even overlay them so they play full length and repeat very quickly.

    1973 "A" neck.

    I'd rather be playing Bass:

Un simple effet de Delay ferait pas l'affaire?

I don't think a simple delay would be that thing, because I need the sound to be repeated very fast (a delay could do it, right !) but with a delay, the trail of a sound wound still ring during the repeat, which I don't want...

I've got another way to describe what I'm looking for : in Sonar, when you have a project with several "big" DXi Synth (i.e : RMX + Atmosphere x2 + Absynth), when you save the project during playback, it exactly stutters the way I want !!
