No preview bar in DimPro?!

The free sfz player had a bar at the bottom, like a keyless keyboard, that you could run your mouse cursor over to preview the sound you just loaded.

Is it true that DimPro has no keyboard nor a preview bar, or have I missed something?

It is true. No keyboard no preview bar in Dimension Pro/Rapture.

Yeah, that keystrip at the bottom of sfz was great for testing out sounds in a hurry (and has some fruity bugs too… tried running the mouse past the right-hand side without releasing the button?). However, I think it was a smooth move not including it in Dimension & Rapture. I mean, these machines are pro all the way and most people operating at this level will have some type of controller hooked up to their music computer rig. Ommiting the keystrip frees up screen release estate and avoids doubling up on functions that can be completed by a delegated to a MIDI controller or the host software.

I like the deployable keyboards like Sytrus. You can have it or not. Of course, the strip was a pretty cool effect. Maybe not "pro" but definately differernt.

I'd be into that. It's nice to be able to tuck those little extras away when they're not needed.

I work without any controllers; directly in the piano roll.

My FM7 has a keyboard you can switch on and off as required.

    Also, DimPro has no microhost.

Yes, there are freeware tools that solve both problems. But I figured in this price category, something like this would be provided as a matter of course.

Ping CW a feature request. Surely they could pop a microhost in with all the other supported formats (VST, RTAS, DX, et al) if they tried hard enough… Sure would be welcome at a gig when you only want the least number of apps to deal with.
