"Fit to time" Problem

I am having a problem with the "fit to time" process when using it to stretch audio. I selected a clip of audio that spanned from 8:01:000 to 8:04:141 and selected "fit to time." Then I set the new thru time to 8:04:959 and selected stretch audio. At first it seemed that this made the audio disappear. Then I rolled the clip back to the start of the project and found the audio at 1:01:000. Is anyone else able to reproduce this problem?

Thanks,
Erik

Hi Erik, well at least I was going to answer. I don't know that is a strange one. I just tried it since I'm butchering Adobe loops and it is easier to butcher in Sonar, than SAW (mass produced). Stretch to time has been working for me, I tried what you did and it worked fine??????????

Thanks for checking into it, John.

I've tried it several times earlier and the problem does occur everytime within this particular project. I'll have to see if I can re-create the issue in other projects in order to come up with a better recipe for this one.

    Thanks,
    Erik

Oh yeah, when I describe the disappearing of audio, I mean that the clip becomes blank and I need to roll (slip edit) the clip back to 1:01:000 in order to find the audio. The "fit to time" time audio stretching is working okay but it is moving the audio to a new start time (in this case the beginning of the project).

You know that happens in Sonar. Why??? One of the reasons I spent so much, I was tired of little headaches. That is what I'd do next, try the routine in other projects. I've had some projects do some weird stuff, with all the settings saying it should be working......................

I think this is a known bug. I reported it months ago, and they said it was known and would be fixed in the next update. In the meantime, whenever I want to stretch audio, I move a clip to beat 1 of a different track and stretch to time... it works fine. Makes the function a little less useful than it would be otherwise, but a work around until they fix it.
