Solo function problem

I have two basic problems with Home Studio and I am wondering what the fixes may be:

a. The solo function on my MIDI tracks does not work. The mute and record work. I cannot solo a track. Is there another function that I must turn on or off first?

b. I can't get my windows within Cakewalk to float or slide over each other (having one slide into the background and the other to the foreground). On my old version of Cakewalk there was a setting for this, but I cannot find a setting for this in HS2002.


Any Ideas?
