Venting Moment... pass this one by!
AAAAaaaaaauuuuuughghghghghgh!!! I had a pretty SWEET horn trip down for my reggae tune, and I hit the VSTi item called "fadwire", or something... the ReWire device for n-Track, which is installed in my PC (I'm still an n-Track fan). Sonar "Had To Close". It is gone, and I can't for the life of me remember it. Maybe that means it wasn't very good after all. I'm hoping so- but there was a gas thing about it... and it's gone. So remember kids: SAVE SAVE SAVE! [ sigh...]

I agree. If you can't remember it, it probably wasn't all that memorable. The drugs wore off and its gone forever. Get over it and move on. Life is too short....

So if Enya's engineer forgot to save take #99 of the 100 vocals she does--would the moment be lost?

You know, there's something distinctly un-musical to me about plotting notes on a Piano-Roll with a mouse. It's too cerebral an exercise. If I'd played it on an instrument, it would have by necessity become something more musical, I think, and I could have played it again (unless I'm not aware of how inadequate my playing is! ). Well, I just felt the need to express my frustration... sorry for the bother. Time to go look up a MIDI keyboard.

Well, no because she has another 98 to fall back on. The secret is not to lose the first take.

I also have NT and you wanna talk about a crasher when you need it least. That program is slick but not reliable at all. that is why i use MTS the most now rock solid.

I got Sonar HS4 after chasing n-Track around a bit. I just don't have time for it! Full time work, major family scene, house to finish fixing. I don't even play my bass! Makes me a little nuts sometimes- but yep, n-Track is sidelined for now. Too bad, great idea, and great forum. I've learned tons over there, and it's good company (such as it can be, sitting on front of a PC monitor!).

I totally agree, and I remember talking to you a little over there on n-tracks forum, Sloom, but it kept crashing on me and that's before I ever finished a project with it. I put it away and bought the cake!

I put it away and bought the cake! Right, I remember your name, Beagle. I had been looking at HS for a while- and then went for the less $ route with n-Track! The promise of more features... Thing is, the app is promising! But I tend to get bugged a bit when there's an issue with a tool concerning the PC, which I feel I have very little control over. And like I mentioned, it's a time-consumer for me. Anyway, now that I've spent some time with HS4, I'm sticking with it. I will go back to n-Track and get with it at some point, I know this is true- but this one is working out fine. Just need some sounds for MIDI. Good to yap with you a minute, Beagle. How's your musical life, anyway? Got anything to post?

Nope, not yet. I'm very new to this and I haven't finished my first project yet. I've got teenagers to deal with! And keepin' momma happy! Yeah, the guys on the n-track forum are great, and it's loaded with features for the money, but I just couldn't live with the instability. I'm very happy with SHS4! I'll post some stuff when I can for all to critique! Great yakin' with ya!
