Locking audio clips to SMPTE time?

I've been on these forums for a long time now (since it opened) and this feature request has been on these forums many times. Also I myself sibmited it on the feature request and I know of many of the other forum member who also requested it.

I had high expectations that this would be fixed in 5.2 , but for some reason Cakewalk has decided to once again ignore the users.

Just briefly the feature request is to allow audio clips to be locked to a specific SMPTE time, similar to the way a marker can be locked to real time instead of locking it to a bar. This feature is essential when composing music for film where audio clips needs to be syncronized exactly to certain events, even if bars are being inserted or bmp are being changed.

Cakewalk, please help us out OR tell us to shut up.

I know alot of ppl dont see the value in what you are asking, but I HEAR YA!!!!
It is ESSENTIAL when doing video to be locked to SMPTE Time, and not bb+measures.
I read a while back that there is a problem with the way sonar deals with time, that it was built on measures, and not on smpte, I think there is a technical issue that the are avoiding.

Anyway, the workaround SUX, which is to timestamp the audio by bouncing from measure one, I have struggled with this issue when changing tempos for remixing. It seems that it should be able to do what you say

    I SECOND THAT MOTION!

I am suprized that Sonar does not include this feature. You are absolutely right - this is a critical requirement when scoring audio. It is also depressing. I have been approached to score some short films with a number of events that need to be sonically punctuated. I was hoping to use Sonar. It looks like I will now need to acquire another tool.

Yeah, Cakewalk, this is a serious weakness that should be addressed in the next release.

I'll just add my voice to this feature request, I really need it as well. It is a requirement for doing soundtracks to videos.
