SFZ ocillator on

Ok here's what ;)+)

I have 5 single cycle wave tables I know work in Rapture ;)+)

So I want to map these out.

<region> sample= Growl1.wav oscillator=on lokey=c0 hikey=c3

<region> sample= Growl2.wav ocillator=on lokey=c2 hikey=c4

<region sample= Growl3.wave ocillator=on lokey=c3 hikey=c5

I'm thinking I have something out of order here? Is it <group> that I need?

I re-ran this and got what I believe was the map ;)+) So I got it to work but I still have a question please Rene, Is there a way to ease into a new wave file? How to say? If growl2 wave starts at c2 is there a way to have the 2 wav start at a lower volume and then top out at key center which would be c3 and then drop out at c4. A volume/amplitude curve if you will? Please SIR?

BTW= I AM REALLY EXCITED about what I just did. On one element, I loaded 4 single cycle wave files mapped out to a keymapped region.

I HAVE GOT TO SAY ;)+) Rapture is gonna kick some serrious but here. And SFZ's GONNA BE THE MANAGER.

    You want to crossfade.

    Can't say more. Work's got me by the balls this fortnight.

    You can assign a region of the keyboard to serve as crossfade between two wavetables, samples, or combination between them. This is known as "Keyboard Crossfading Regions".

    The example below, will "morph" a saw into a square in the C4~C5 range. Combining crossfade with lokey/hikey, you can crossfade the whole world.

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    /// sfz definition file
    /// copyright rgc:audio 2004
    /// -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /// Test group: crossfade
    /// Test purpose: Wavetable crossfade between c4 and c5

    <group>
    xf_keycurve=gain
    oscillator=on

    <region>
    sample=008 - square mini.wav
    xfin_lokey=c4 xfin_hikey=c#5

    <region>
    sample=016 - saw mini.wav
    xfout_lokey=c4 xfout_hikey=c#5

    BTW, keep in mind that there's a limit for the number of regions you can crossfade.
    Ah no, sorry. There's no limit.

    chad,

    cool. will try it out tomorrow. The pad has always been one of my fav features in Rap and DP - goes back to the analog days and a synthi. Now with the step sequencers it is like a flashback.

    Well Chad ;)+) I tried to spread out your hack. Didn't take much and the tables got louder and louder.

    Now I also tried Rene's. It was smooth. and when I spread the crossfade region out it still worked good. I know where I went wrong.

    <group>
    <region> sample=[yoursample1here].wav
    lokey=c2 hikey=b2
    If you change the b2 then the thing takes off. And man did it get loud. I still have it and well, I'm thinking there is something about it worth holding on to. It's just I know now what not to change and why. Oh and I snagged your 40zip. Sounds like major fun.
