tying the XY pad to a physical controller?

Any secret way to tie the XY pad in Rap or DimPro to a physical controller? I just got my blow out Novation remote le (tho I will have to send it back when they replace it for a bum key) and would love to use it with the virtual pad. Been having fun with the MMatrix, but I love to see the pad move, too.

Pssst! Alan ... yeah, you. Come here a second.

Burrow down in the DX Automation menu of two separate 'widgets'. Look way down to the bottom of the choices; about six or seven rows up. There's an X and a Y choice. When you get that LE back, set up a MIDI control source in the Remote O/S to send on each axis (Don't set up two per-axis; that adds a level of confusion.) Then right-click your assigned 'widgets' to MIDI Learn, and you're good to go. You can also control the Desaccel remotely.

    Shhh! Don't tell anyone ...

Edit: You can also set each axis of the physical X/Y pad on the Remote to have No Spring, Spring Left, or Spring 'Centre'.
It's available per-template, in the Select menu.

Does this mean I have to learn some special handshake?

And yea, just finished reading about the spring center, spring left, etc. Took me back to spring training in HS football.

I'm thinking there needs to be a VSTi or something named simply - "Widget".

    Rene....????

(could also be a new host called "Widgets", or perhaps "Widget Host"...nice n' generic...the software package equiv of a white can that says "BEANS".

I always found that name to be odd, Brandon, but that's what Cake called them, so ... who am I to be a non-conformist?
I see the term as ... kind of Elmer Fudd-ish: "Shhh! Be veh-we veh-we qui-et. We-uh pwogwamming widgets!"

If you are looking for a control surface that is adaptable, try looking at Tablet to MIDI.

This lets you utilise a Graphics Tablet to control XY pads, controls etc of synths and VSTi's. Of course you do need a Graphics Tablet, but I think that hint is in the name .

I'm using it Ok with a Trust tablet (not very expensive). Bear in mind that the software is still in Beta, but is pretty robust for all that.

    Find it here, http://www.livelab.dk/
