help cant install rapture

hi guys I need help. every time I put the cd in to install I get a read me file pop up and no rapture screen. I tried going into the explore the CD and installed it but again rapture can not start I keep getting the win notepad <HTML>

any one can help !

    This is weird, Markus. The Rapture support page mentions some possible autostart issues. Did you double-click on the setup.exe when you went into Explorer? I'm really at a loss here, but I'll bet that you're bumming at this point.

    b rock am totally lost man. I have no idea why is that. Whenever the CD starts it takes me instead of install to a notepad wioth winstart data.
    I went to explore and got to setup with no exe and then it loaded and said it is installed. I looked at it on my computer there is no where to find any exe file to initial start.... I have never had an issue as such before... I dont know.. I bought the CD from zzounds.....

    Are you sure that you're not installed, Markus? I can't remember the default path offhand, but there should be a set of folders under C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture, or C:\Cakewalk\Rapture. Look for something like that in Windows explorer. What are you using to host your synths?

    the wierd thing b rock is that the file is there on my c file cakewalk/rapture.. but in the file there is everything but the auto run . there is even the uninstall .....

    I got many files among is a file called Rapture.dll which doesnt open and says cant recognize. and then the un install.

    am running windows xp ..and never had this issue before for installation

    does rapture work by itself or do I have to open it only with a host liek Sonar for example ?

    No apologies; everyone's new at one point. There's no standalone mode, so you do have to open Rapture in a host program. The easiest way in Sonar would be through Insert/DXi Synths. Let us know if it's there under your choices.

    Edit: Markus, I should've asked if you actually had Sonar. If not, try downloading this donationware Minihost [here] and open Rapture with that.

    am a mess. thanks B rock. I was under the impression that it can stand alone . I managed to get it on sonar. thanks man you are such a help in times of need. thanks
