Hey Sid, what's a leftist?

Everyone that thinks 4.7% unemployment, and the most stable stock market in history is failure.

I think you will find he votes in the US. Therefore the use of "our" is a correct use of language, not a leftist smoke screen. And instead of inventing smoke haze, you could also have chosen to read the bit where I said -

His press comments around this album have included a statement where he is at pains to say this is a non-partisan record. As a republican he wants to see Bush and co. kicked out so the party can have a "real" republican representative -- not someone in the pocket of big business.

- a little more carefully.

Regards,

Q.

Now, how does someone who is not a US citizen do that? I think we may have found out why Democrats keep getting so many votes.

Yeah - I wasn't sure - that's why I went with "I think you will find...". I was attempting to remember the line he gave on CNN. I'll dig it out and post verbatim. So said, I think the essence of the sentiment holds true.

Hang ten.

And this is a bad thing compared to, oh, selling the soul of America to special interests?

ps as to the mix, I do have a complaint the the bit rate must be the lowest possible, I don't think it would even put a dent in a dial-up connection's bandwidth. Hard to say what it really sounds like.

That's weird - must be some sort of bandwidth metering automatically happening. It is near CD quality at my end. Certainly no nasty compression artifacts.

The really interesting thing is that I made a direct comment to your post and it was quoted. Even if you can't remember what you posted, you could read it.

Let's put aside the issue of the $8.3 Trillion national debt for just one moment and consider the impact of the estimated $811 BILLION(!) going to fund the wars against "terrorism".

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4955418.stm

$811 Billion?

Billion.

$811,000,000,000 taken away from healthcare, education, social services, roads etc. Ask any future president whether the actions of this administration were a failure or not.

IF there was any chance that it would have been spent on those things you'd have something. Did you know we have the most funded school system in the world?

Sid - The whole left vs right paradigm is just a control mechanism to splinter opinion. Both sides are equally funded by and beholden to big business. The entire western world is addicted to oil. It is running out. At the same time, the two most populous nations on earth, China and India, are inventing a middle class -- all of whom want cars. If John Kerry had won the last election, the same stuff would still be happening.

I presume you are referring to the US National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) report from 2005 - Comparative Indicators of Education in the United States and Other G8 Countries: 2004?

If I am reading correctly, this is a comparison snapshot using private and public funding to compare the load. It would be more interesting to see just the public investment levels compared. I had a quick look on their website but couldn't find it.

Since we're way off topic anyway, has anyone checked out David Gilmour's latest release?

It's not political at all. Just awesome music with a perfect production.

Next you'll do the old "the governemt is bad, let's give the government more money" thing. Typical leftist drivel. This is exactly why Congress gets away with murder.

- He is backed and his administration filled with some of the more extreme elements of the republican party
- Removing him is the first step in getting accountability

Clinton was the same. I don't suspect you said any of that about him. If you're happy with your hypocrisy, who am I to complain. The only major difference between the last two Presidents is the letter after their name.

Clinton was just as bad and beholden to big business => THEY ALL ARE!

However, Clinton didn't blatantly lie to the people to start two illegal wars - he lied about a blowjob and he was impeached. I guess we should save the litigation for the really big issues, after all...

Cum-stain vs. how many thousands already dead?

HOw many people died in the bombings that Clinton lied about and did? Clinton told us there were WMD in Iraq and bombed them and kept sanctions that killed a couple million. He also sat back and did nothing as 2 million Rwandans were killed. Try to protect your hero all you want. It just makes you look stupid.

Sid,

I've already said the left vs. right thing is a distraction. Bush is here and now. Clinton was yesterday. Bush Snr. before that was equally bad with the atrocities of depleted uranium inflicted on the troops and Iraqi population.

If you want to be gross and do a body count tally for each President then fine go ahead - but remember the 320 tonnes of depleted uranium dropped on Iraq during Gulf War I which has been estimated as increasing the cancer rates up to 25,000 times.

Frankly, I wouldn't cross the road to pee on either Bush or Clinton if they were on fire. All of these actions are criminal - as were Clinton's around Waco and Ruby Ridge. I am not talking party politics here - this goes much further, but as of today and now - GWB is THE main figurehead of the people perpetrating the criminal actions.

This Neil Young record is simply saying that it is time for all of us in the western world to regain control of our governments and end the madness.

Hey, you started the body count. Then you complain the past, yet talk about it freely when it isn't your boy. You're a fake and a hypocrite. Have fun.
