I Have Nothing Listed in Midi

Hello elders!
I am trying to start up on MC and the options/midi screen comes up asking me to choose which input and output. The problem is there is nothing listed in the input column and only the midi mapper in the output column. I know there is a soundcard in the computer and i also added a soundblaster along with it only the computer wont run it for some reason. It looks like I have at least two problems but I will take any suggestions you may have.
Thank you very much.

set the program to MME driver mode run the wave profiler, and check again, the sound card may not have a midi port.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

    Robomusic,
The card does have a midi port. I checked. My computer won't even go on now. I'm trying to practice detachment Before it refused to come back on the mouse was frozen and there was no response to any command. I disabled the motherboard soundcard and I fear that is the problem.
    I'm in over my head.

    OH dear No How,
I was going to suggest that you read Robo's thread for gettin' started with Music Creator. There are some threads here, that explain the exact situation that you are talking about. If you just look for "newbie information" or something close to that. Read the thread, it goes into great detail on how to get started with MC. There is a second one also, called "start-up information" they are both really, really great threads, and walk you thru everything.
I don't think that you had to go as far as disabling the motherboard soundcard. Yikes, that would not have been my 1st move! (maybe my last). I sure hope that this works out for you. Please keep us informed.
    Best of luck

He had two threads going at the same time on the same problem. The other thread is where I suggested that he disable the onboard sound card. He had two sound cards installed on his system, typically if you have an onboard sound card you don't want it to continue to be using resources if you've installed another sound card, especially for DAW work.

That can be a problem, but generally they co-exist just fine, i still have my on board enabled. His problems sound far reater than that.
