Hey Sean, I like how it turned out too!

Your style here compliments very well. Its big, dark, and edgy, so for sure I enjoyed it.

the drums and bass are really powerful. even though it's a remix the piece holds together very nicely.

    nice stuff sean.

Hey Sean, THat's a great track... again, Lo-Fi industrial, but what'd you expect???

very deep, some rock feel to it.
It's very intense, a bit too much distortion to my ears, but it may be personnal....
Anyway, This voice is really beautiful, you maybe should have made it louder.
anyway that's a really PRO-sounding song... (is that a compliment actually?)
keep up the great work man, that's great!

    Hi Sean,

Even though i told you i prefer the original in my email, this is a good remix job. This is just a bit too dark and heavy for my current tastes these days.

I would like to have heard the original... This tune is massive. Really rich ambient bed of textures, both
smooth and gritty. Metallic and organic components.
But I can't hear her vocals at all. I think you could make her a
little louder..the mix is fine, just the volume.
You've got a master work going here. I like the tingly
elements in there. REally goes nice with the hard filtering and
    sharp-edged synths.
I could pick your stuff outta a line up!! Can you get a patent for your sound?

@Fred S- thanks fred, glad you liked it :)

@e0nic- there are actually three layers of drums. the original from the loops she sent me...that I tweaked a little...then a slightly distorted one that started out at 120bpm...groove clipped it...and brought the track down to 60bpm(half of 120...) and that gave it the sound you are referring to. then a really distorted/bit crushed drum on top of that. :10: style drums....fun stuff :)

@Cubensis Theory- thanks CT. do i win a prize......lol looking forward to the photoshop stuff. It would be cool to see someone else add artwork to their postings... so far I think tclark/triscuit and I are the only ones.

@ecamburn- thanks eric. when i first got all the tracks together...all the ideas i had previously had went out the door....i was lost. so I had to sit on it for a couple of days. i just kept listening to the original over and over..and the drum beat is what really inspired me. so thats what i started with. guess it all worked out in the end... first time i ever had the chance to remix someone Else's stuff.

@badbib- agreed with the voice. the first vocal i kept quite on purpose...then the second set of vocals i tried to balance in the mix. this would be the second time working with vocals. its not very easy to get it right. I may go back in a tweak a few things...well see. depends on how lazy i get these next few days.

@blipp- you just made DA jealouse...quick..delete your post...this never happened...lol.... thanks blipp.....

@Digital Aura- hello DA...nice little graphic you have there... who designs your stuff...looks great...lol that would be cool...a :10: patent....dirty/dark industrial d&b...

and thanks to everyone that stopped by to listen. it is well appreciated.

    best regards...

    heavy to be sure

but the vocal does get lost
    it's way back

drums and vocal should change front/back
could be failry amazing with a very upfront open airy crisp reverb 'presence' vocal against those drums
but maybe there's too much repetition in the lyric to pull that off

i like this sort of piece at this pace with this sort of vocal a lot more than those with male screamers at 2x the bpm

what would you like to know?

most of it is simple chain effects. example-blockfish/delay/alias factor/master limiter.
my drums really arnt all that complicated...I just use two or three different drum tracks layered to compliment each other...all with a few effects chained into them.

If i get a chance, I will put up an example.

I must admit that I did not enjoy this track much myself. Probably a little on the harsh side for me. Percussion is excellent as always, and the production could not really be faulted. Just the style is not my bag, sorry.

    chain effects-

its just the effects you normally would put in. as in alias factor..or any other P5 effect.

chaining them is when you add an effect after the first effect...you basically chain them in what ever order you want them.

but a master limiter should always be added last...as its used for taming your peaks,...so that you don't clip.

    [velocity]

    [effects]

    compressor (blockfish)
    alias factor
    delay
    master limiter

Whew! The mix on some of those synths is so powerful! I am Loving the vocals - very haunting.

It reminds me of a band my friend likes... ahhh! Ive forgotten it!

    oh well.

    Very nice piece though!
