sampling

i overheard a conversation of somebody saying they were going to "sample my music". unfortunately i dont understand what that really means and if it is "bad" or "good". please define this phrase for me and if it is "bad" what do i do to stop someone from doing it ?!?!

    well if someone is goin 2 sample ur music without u knowin, then thats bad, but if u let him then thats good.
    but if u got ur music on soundclick or any other web site, they can audio stream record it.
    alot of ppl can record ur music if its on a website, thats what i hate about it, actually im thinkin about takin my music off soundclick, because i dont want ppl to steal my sh*t, and say oohh i made this beat. ppl these days cant be creative and do there own sh*t!
    i know yesterday my friend on msn messenger told me that someone asked him to record my beats so he can get them, but my friend said hell no GET THE FUCC OUTTA HERE!
