You might try changing the note value for the swing. It may not be set to a value that has any effect.

Ive tried all different note values to no effect.

Even teh swing amount for the whole project does nothing.

Is there something im missing here?

Man, on top of the piano roll, right corner, there's a small thing, with Swing : OFF
change it to what you want, and increase the swing value in the transport bar... HTH

Guys: The swing amount percentage in the Main View is global. It affects swing set in the Arpeggiator or the Editor [Free or Step]. The Arp swing (or Step Seq) is just a toggle switch: on or off. The [Free] Editor lets you assign swing to eighth notes, sixteenths, 32nds, or not al all. It'll only affect that particular note value (to the extent set in the global amount of the Main View).

Edit: You may need to slow your tempo down [100 BPM] until you recognize the swing feel. Try changing your Snap to Grid to the same value as the swing increment, and draw in a few notes. Or just try it in the Arp to easily hear the differences.

    Hey folks,

Sorry to raise this little gem again, but i've gotta know if you can swing wave grooves or just midi patterns. I can get midi patterns to swing but not acid format waves ie SmartLoops. I've got an old version of ACID pro which can swing my SmartLoops grooves but was hoping P5 could do it. Is this possible ??? Appreciate any help on this one.

    Thanks in advance.

Acid is the only sequencer that I am aware of that allows swing to be used on audio loops in a similar manner to what you can do with midi...it's one of the good features of Acid in my view, along with the ability to reverse clips without actually reversing the underlying audio file.

Not that I am aware of...although I didn't specifically look for that facility when I demoed Live, but I can't recall seeing it mentioned in the manual.
