Pyro Express

Can anyone give me their opinion on the Pyro Express version that is included with MC? Is it useful? Is it worth it to upgrade to the full version of Pyro? Are other programs like Nero better? Are they any better than free, basic programs like Windows Media Player or the Yahoo Music Engine?

I never had much success with pyro, even though it has some very nice features. for a player i prefer WinAmp, or just plain ol' windows media player, for burning i like Nero or Roxio

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

Hi there, I picked up Pyro 2004 for 10 bucks, thought I couldn't go wrong. I haven't used it to it's full potential but I like what I see so far. It allows you to do all the usual burning stuff as well as record things like records and tapes, make markers between songs etc. as well as some effects for cleaning up audio. It also converts to MP3 files. I thought it was worth it. I think the newer versions do more as well, like make your own cell phone ring tones.

Pyro is alright though I have had some small problems with it like at times it does not recognise a blank disc or the burn speed. Burning can also be painfully slow. For recording old records and tapes its not bad. Tried Pinnacle once and that totaly crashed my PC so not a fan of that one.

That is what pyro did to me, it burned slow, had trouble with my burner, and misread blank CDs

I bought Pyro for 10 bucks at Long & McQuade. It was an older version so was cheap. I'm in Calgary so L&M is the best music store in the country up in the Great White North.
