How to split piano staff?

In the music sheet (staff) view for pianos, most of the bass is mixed in with the treble, which makes things difficult to read. I have tried splitting it at c5 and c4 but that didn't do anything. Any suggestions on how I can get this split better?

Thanks,
Brett

go find on the web notepad it is a finale free demo, it will do staff work far better than the staff writer in MC.

I've got to ask here ...

you split at C4 - and you set the clef to treble/bass

Could you explain what your piece looks like?

Mine keeps middle C in the Treble and everything else below in the Bass.
I guess I don't understand what else you could want it to do.

This seems pretty much like the standard display for sheet music.
