I'm sick of the wall color in my studio.

I confess, I painted my studio with the left over wall paint from my kitchen/dining room. I'm tired of it. I've got light colored ivory/beige berber carpet. That has to stay. I've got white ceiling tiles on the ceiling. I don't think those can be painted without changing their absorption properties. If they can, I'm certainly willing. I have natural unpainted cedar strips on the Helmholz resonators in the walls so those have to stay.

I need color combos. I have no talent when it comes to this. Go to see my studio at http://web.tampabay.rr.com/cmodiset/webpage/Studio/Views%20Page.htm and make some suggestions please.

    Mod,

How about something with some richness to it (sorry daverich), like a slate color. That would make the wood items on the wall really stand out beautifully (as my award-winning quilt-designing wife would say, it would 'pop').

    Nice Studio! Tough question...

    When initially looking at it,
I could not think of a non-intrusive combo.

Then thinking a bit about it, there is one thing you may want to consider.
Color has an affect on mood.

Personally I would like my studio to be neutral in the mood alteration department.
(unless it happens to inspire creativity and great performances! hehe)

That being said, go for something not too dingy nor sterile.
Make sure people feel comfortable and not distracted.

Green would set a good mood, but might be hard to incorporate.
You would have to bang off the right shade.
It would be difficult for us to give you a correct shade
due to the fact we are looking at photos.

Considering how important the mood of a studio is,
I would seriously consider hiring a colour consultant.
They usually don't charge much for the appearance,
and the investment may end up being a priceless value. ;)

They will show up with a bunch of shades, and match up the correct shades for you.
All you have to do after that is get the paint shop to mix up the pantone. ;)

    http://www.shibuya.com/garden/colorpsycho.html

    Hope that helps,
    Tomek.

Yes Losguy, that's what I was speaking of. It's funny those guys(Stones) look very contempary now. Great album tho, for anybody under 25 get that Stones album and give it a good listen. You will discover why they are still around. I think that was next to the last album Brian Jones was still alive/with them, he was the real musical genius in that band..........

Deep Garnett...It's a rusty burgandy. I painted the living room in my apartment that color, and it looks and feels great.

I noticed in your pictures it looks like you have a studiologic midi controller. What do you think of it? I'm getting a new one soon and that was one of my options.

I think my mask of sanity, is about to slip.

    Nice studio, indeed!

Getting in with the "calming effects" of color....and the need to remain neutral, you may want to look at a very pale slate green color. If you can get it with the proper hue to look okay with the carpet, it should look good, and feel great! lol

Hey, they paint bridges green to keep drivers from freaking out!

It's a good controller though it's much more controller than I need. I think I'm going to replace it with a much smaller one because I'm only a one handed keyboardist. I mainly use it for drum parts.

Anyone know the color numbers of Garnet? I tried to find them but evidently I don't know what to ask for. I need the number to plug into my photoeditor to see what it looks like. I like burgandy.

BTW, the color on my walls now is like a very pale sage green. It's not too bad but it's got no personality.

Really? Either the pic or the lighting doesn't show it as such...
Anyway, for what it's worth, don't get room personality at the expense of room karma and serenity.
