I've never used a drum kit for input, so I'm not much help, but I'd say you need to supply more information and even with more information I might be of some use. are you trying to record MIDI from the drum machine? how do you have your inputs set up in MC? are you using the SB as the channel outputs of the MIDI source track, or are you using a drum map?

This sounds like the 'instrument definition' problem. Whether it's a keyboard or electronic drums, if that particular instrument isn't listed in MC's instrument definition files, you won't be able to use all the sounds your kit (or keyboard) makes. Go to 'options>instruments' at the top of the MC screen. See if your kit is listed there. If it is select it and pound away. Greg

if this is indeed your problem, you'd need to upgrade to Sonar Home Studio 4 in order to use the instrument definitions for your drum machine. Right now you can upgrade for $79 for SHS4 or $129 for SHS4XL OR upgrade to Sonar 5 Studio Edition for $149!

You guys are missing the REAL point here, look carefully at the post. He is using SB4 as the OUTPUT, so the midi drum machine is triggering the midi and the sound blasters synth chip is playing the output, it you want to actually hear the midi drum machines output (i.e. the units drum kits) you need to send the midi tracks output back to the drum machine, and output audio from there back to MC.
