playback distortion

playback distortion

When I play any sounds(loops or recordings that I've made) they are distorted and fade in an out as though it were a synthesizer.This even occurs when I am previewing using the loop explorer. All my other programs that use my speakers work fine. I am using Sonar Home Studio 4, and playing them through plain old Bose computer speakers. Any ideas? Thanks

    What kind of soundcard do you have? What audio driver? Have you tried different drivers?

    I have a M-audio pre usb and the soundcard that came with my computer. I don't know how to change drivers?

    Have you tried to increase your latency?
