Anticipation - time's gonna crawl....

Slightly OT, but I wanted to toss out another "thanks" to all the folks here who've answered dumb questions over the last couple weeks/month or so.

The AMD price drop has hit retail, and I've ordered all the components in for the new DAW from newegg. Gonna be a couple days to get it here, but I'll try to maintain a state of steady Zen 'tll it's arrival. I'll have a couple days off when the stuff hits, so I should be up and running by the weekend. Wheee.........!!

For the record -

K8U-939 Mobo
Athalon 4600+
2 Gig Corsair
40 gig IDE system
160 gig SATA150 audio
PNY FX5200 256m Dual Head
Antec Sonata II case w/450w Phantom PSU
(Yeah, I'm aware some folks have had problems with the Antec PSU's - we'll see...)
Liteon DVD/CD combo drive

Wasn't looking for "latest, greatest" or state-of-the-art - just a well proven, reliable configuration that should be several orders of magnitude better than the old 1.6 P4.

Can't wait to set my default session to 24 bit!!! Thanks again, all - lots of good advice and opinions around here.......

Good luck Richard. Let us know how it goes. For the record, I've never had any problems with Antec PS's.

    Ric -

No question is a dum question if it's asked for the right reasons and in the right way, and yours most certainly have been. Good luck, I know you're going to enjoy it.

    Best,
