Staff mode....ties

ok, i was using staff mode to put in piano because i only have a piano .,...not a keyyboard thatll hook up.. and i pretty much got it down...but i couldnt find how to do a tie..... if you dont know what im talking about...its when theres a note...then 2 sideways parentheses then the same note again..... and when its played it just holds the note out longer....but if i cant do the tie...it messes up the timing and everything is just screwed....so someone PLEASE tell me how to do ties in staff mode THANKS
