Editing Pads

I will try to explain:
well, i am doing a club track. I puted chord pad (full with maybe 4 octaves) to be on the top of the mix. I really want to receive that really expanded stereo with thickness... I attached side chain compressor (the key is on the BD track of course ) in order to receive the bouncing when the bass drum kicks and to make the BD sound clearly separated. So the question is what to do with the pad. I cannot put long reverb/delay because i have new chord on every 2 beats... how will i receive the full sound that i want? The stereo expander is not the resolution because it gives stereo, yeah, but not thickness...
Tried to combine few Pad sounds, but too many harmonics really overload my sound...
