    MUSICAL INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY
    Cakewalk Dimension Pro
Dave Smith Instruments Poly Evolver Keyboard
    Korg OASYS
    MOTU Symphonic Instrument
    TC Electronic G-System
    Vienna Symphonic Library Symphonic Cube

Why is the G-System on the list? It's an effects box, it should be under Signal Processing Technology/Hardware.

I think Cakewalk should be proud to have Dimension Pro nominated along such contenders but to be honest, I think the Oasys will win.

I think you're probably right but it really should go to something more available to the masses and not just to the loaded elite.

We definitely are. Specially considering the OASYS is there, with 10+ research years.

Kind of funny something that is $8000 is in competition with something around $200. It just goes to show you how good Dim Pro really is.

Now, I need to get it.

Yea. and yet I'm not surprised. I have nothing against hardware. Love those cool boxes with the blinkin lights and tensy LCD screens. But way back when, Sonar 1 I believe. I was blown away by the whole Idea of synths in the box. By the time I went and bought Pentagon 1 I was totally Zonkers this is so cool. I could not believe my ears.

I had my keyboard workstation. Yamaha SY99. I had to finance that like a car for cryin out loud. With Pentagon I made one tiny payment to Rene and I was off to heaven. It was so weird. Well hey I'm hooked. A fan boy all the way. This Dpro is just a square deal. I got mine and I'm so busy making sample stuff for it I forget to use it.

Well, the thing is that regardless of the price, the OASYS is quite an achievement when it comes to integration. Plus it is already starting to spawn some more accessible products like the Radias.

If the focus was only on the PCM engine of the Oasys, I'm quite sure René's sfz engine would stomp all over it.

The PEK is another strong contender, although I feel it was more like a honorific nomination than anything else since the actual technology was developed a few years ago with the original Evolver.
