Open Forum?
Since there are so many off-topic threads on any given Forum, and since there seems to be a good many people who like to generate such banter, shouldn't there be an "Open Forum" to allow for such discussion, which wouldn't disrupt the harmony of everything else? Besides, a great deal of server space isn't required. I honestly do not care what anyone particularly thinks about this inquiry, I just figured I'd throw it out there; and since there exists no forum to place such question as this, currently, I must be in the right place...

There was... it was called the "Coffee House". There were some good discussions there, some over the top, but nothing that required intervention more than once or twice per year. It was eventually overrun by a troll or two (yes, they do exist, just like in the books), and unfortunately couldn't save itself. Cake shut it down, and I can imagine they won't try that experiment again anytime soon...

Logical query... I asked once about why I couldn't reply in the "off-topic" forum before I realized that there wasn't one here. I guess what it really boils down to is that there are many, many, many open/anything-topic forums on the internet, and Cakewalk owns/moderates this forum, which is about making music with Cakewalk software. I can live with that. Can't remember the URL, but there's another forum for Cakewalk-ites to go to that is off-topic... I'm sure someone can lead you over there. Dunno... I've given up trying to figure out what "off-topic" means anyway, and after the recent Scott G. thread where (from my newbie perspective) everyone looked right from their point of view, I'm thinking I'm only going to post when I have something directly music or Cakewalk related to say... After this post, of course... Take care, - zevo

And I expect to see this thread and your last two in the trash bin forum very soon . . .

I've given up trying to figure out what "off-topic" Off Topic was created as a place to move topics that have been banned from the CW forums.
