will this firewire device work with CW9 ????

Howdy all,
I sure hope I didnt post in the wrong area. But all this is a bit greek to me. I have an old version of cakewalk. (ver 9)...which I have been using with the 1/8 jack on my pc's for about 4 years. I am looking at buying a firewire M-Audio FireWire Solo Mobile Audio Interface. However, I note on the online literature that this device is compatable with:

ASIO2
WDM
GSIF2
MME
Core Audio

This is mostly greek to me, but I am trying to avoid spending about $200.00 and having something not work. I vaguely understand that cakewalk 9 is ASIO. Will this new asio2 device work with my older cakewalk version?

I sure appreciate any help. I know people will tell me to "just buy new software..." But heck, it took me 4 years to figure out this version of CW!

Thanks!

Scott

Scott - I'm really not certain about the answer to your question, but I *thought* that CW9 was NOT capable of ASIO supported use. However, the m-audio firewire mobile can be used in WDM mode, and I'm pretty certain that CW9 CAN use WDM.

You can probably get a more definite answer in the Pro Audio or Home Studio forums.
