Battery powered mixer or dual preamp ?

Just got an Echo Indigo io for my laptop, and suggestions for a mic mixer or preamp for it that can run on batteries ?

    Frank,

check out some of the broadcast oriented suppliers, Broadcast Supply West (BSW), Broadcasters General Store, Harris-Allied for ideas. There are some really good quality, battery powered products used in TV audio. Unfortunately, they ain't cheap! Shure makes products that are used everyday, but I"m not a fan of their stuff. relatively noisy. The FP series of stuff are all battery. Better stuff is made by Sound Devices. Sorry I don't have links.

    Frank,
    Behringer has this unit ( UBB1002 ) which will handle 5 mics / 10 line-in's:

Battery life is ~ 4 hrs of continuous operation. Note that phantom power is reduced to 18V under battery operation.

I had the predecessor to the above ( MXB1002 ) , which worked just fine for my purposes at that time. I used it as a keyboard(s) line-level mixer + a couple of dynamic mics (primarily live work). I never actually ran it on batteries, although it had the capability.

    Hey Frank--

Knowing you tend to not mess around, check out the Sound Devices offerings...stunning. On par with or better than the Fireface 800s. This http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/DEN-AD20-MINI has caught my eye before as it also gives you a digital output, but I can't comment on its sound as I've not used it before.
