No Sound

There is a speaker icon in my taskbar. It is the color of gray. I was told that it should be yellow. Can this be the the reason why I'm not getting any sound when I record in Cakewalk Creator 3. I have a sound blaster live soundcard. Iam runing windows XP. I have a Fostex recorder going into line in jac.

    that could definitely be why you have no sound. have you tried right clicking on it. it will open you volume control dialogue box....then click on options....for playback, make sure you have the necassary boxes checked off...i have win98se and i have mast. vol., wave, sw synth, cd player and line in checked off...you can choose for yourself the best options here. then in the options box, click on recording and make sure all boxes are checked off. let me know if that helps at all.

    I still have a gray icon with no sound.

    Do you have sound at all on your computer? Can you play a CD or wave files?

    Yes I can play a CD and a wav. file. I also have sound coming from my mic.

    Then I would not worry about the speaker icon and worry about why MC is not playing your tracks. can you play the tutorials or the audio samples that come with MC?

    How do stop the metronome. I want to record without the metronome.

    check/uncheck PLAYBACK and/or RECORDING
