sonar bit depth question

I have Sonar set to record audio at 24 bit and to render files at 32 bit. If I export files as 24 bit without dither am I truncating the file? These are tracks that have no processing what so ever, just some edits.

    wouldnt it be 24 bits of data and 8 of nothing? Or does Cake use floating point?

    Yes, it's a truncate when Sonar hands the 32 bit word to a 24 bit sound card driver. However, if you are exporting wav files, the sound card driver is not involved so your 32 bit files remain intact using a 32 bit export.
