Does Rapture = Z3TA+ with New GUI?

Is Rapture just Z3TA+ with new window dressing, or is really something new? How do they compare?

    Nope they are definitely different beasts. Rapture is capabable of producing similar sounds to z3ta+ , Rapture though IMO is so much more. You could make a case for having both (especially with some of the excellent z3ta mods out there).

    Given the choice I would take Rapture over z3ta+. The z3ta+ presets have a much rawer edge than the rapture presets.

    Thanks for the info. I asked because I bought Z3TA+ a few months ago on a previous special offer. I'm trying to resist the Rapture special offer. What Z3TA+ mods are you referring to?

    They are completely different, but both very nice. I've had z3ta+ since it was in beta... and it's one of my favorite synths of all time. I checked out the Rapture demo, knowing I'd probably want it as well, and it has been at the top of my wish list for months. I'm on a tight budget these days, but when they put up this offer I had to pull the trigger.

    I haven't spent a lot of time with Rapture, but it did seem to have a lot of powerful features that were very different than what z3ta+ has to offer. I've been reading about what some of the power users are doing with SFZ files and I'm really looking forward to getting it. Wouldn't hurt to try the demo, but you've only got a couple of days for the deal, so better hurry!

    They call 'em fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing.
