Rapture Midi Program Change?

Rapture seems to be ignoring midi program changes... how do I turn this on?

Joel, Rapture doesn't support bank or program changes over MIDI. I'd suspect the reasoning behind it concerns that it's possible to load large Multisamples as well as single-cycle waveforms, along with mapping both 'flavors' across the MIDI note range at loading.

I think the way Vaz handled it was pretty elegant - the presets aren't in FXB-ish configuration that work nicely with program/bank change, but they give you a page where you can define particular presets to be associated with particular program numbers.

Several instruments are capable of Bank/Program change (Pentagon I and z3ta+, for instance).
However, when the instruments become more complex in terms of having more and more parameters, or/and load samples or create wavetables on loading, there's not enough CPU power in current computers to handle every calculation, file transfering and file manipulation associated to a Program Change within a single buffer (as when one plays those at low latencies).

Therefore, neither Dimension Pro nor Rapture support Bank/Program Change messages.

I realize the sophistication of Rapture and DimPro require time to process, which prohibit real-time response to program changes.

It'd still be nice to be able to do from a keyboard between songs etc when there is more time allowed ... but anyway ...

You could use whatever host you use to lock two instances to a different channel number. Then between songs just change your keyboard's output channel.
