M-audio Trigger Finger vs. Korg padKONTROL

Korg padKontrol's pads are a *LOT* more sensitive...
For more intricate playing/parts, I much prefer the Korg.

Trigger Finder has more flexible controller features.
TF's Pads are also pressure sensitive... and can send controller data based on pressure.

The Korg's pads aren't pressure sensitive (can't send continuous controllers) but it has two controller knobs and the X/Y controller touch pad.
If your primary concern is playing the pads, get the Korg. Its pads are a lot more sensitive/responsive to dynamics...

The TF's pads are pressure sensitive (can send continuous controllers) and it has 4 controller sliders.

FWIW, I own both... and use the Korg.

The Korg's pads ARE velocity sensitive (as are the TF's)... but they're not pressure sensitive.
The TF's pads are velocity sensitive... and also pressure sensitive (similar to the way a good keyboard controller offers aftertouch).

So... in a nutshell, the Korg is a lot more sensitive/responsive to playing the pads.
The TF offers a bit more in the way of MIDI control.
If you're buying the unit primarily for tapping out drum parts, get the Korg.

I bought the TF first (Korg wasn't released at that time)... and later bought the Korg because its pads (more sensitive)... allow greater 'playability.'

I think you'll like the Korg quite a bit...

One thing I really like about the Korg is the X-Y pad for rolls and flams. You can hold down one of the pads to trigger the sound and move your finger around on the X-Y pad to change the dynamics and speed of the roll or flam. Takes some getting used to, but it's easier than trying to play convincing rolls on pads. If you don't have the Roll or Flam button engaged, it works for pitch bend... not useful for traditional stuff, but it can get some way out stuff for twisted electronica.

Oh... and yeah... the lights are pretty cool too!
